The Randonneur is light, strong, stable, and easy to install or remove. It attaches firmly to the seat rails with a quick release bracket and the front of the rack merely rests against the post with a rubberized clamp that is closed with a Velcro strap. Unequaled stability and strength. Weight: 1.09lbs / 17.46 oz. You will also need the Arkel Brooks adaptor if you have a Brooks or Anatomica saddle.

Great Rack for Carbon Fiber Bikes

Reviewed By: Don on 10/12/20

This is one of the few racks that works well on a bike with a carbon fiber frame. No problem with sway and seems very solidly attached. Make sure you watch the longer video that provides a good overview of installing it. The instructions that came with it were not all that clear. The Arkel Tailrider bag is also a perfect fit for it.

Great rack used on my road and on my gravel bike.

Love it! I use it with an Arkel Tailrider bag and can carry enough for back to back overnight century rides. On my gravel bike, I can explore more remote areas carrying extra equipment for potential repairs than I could in an under saddle bag.

Works as promised, but took some figuring out.

I agree with above post that the instructions could have been more clear. But once installed on my wife’s road bike with carbon seat post, it proves to be a stable and strong rack for carrying light loads on her frequent day trips.

Excellent rack for century rides

The previous two reviews are correct that you should take the extra time to make sure the rack is properly secured to your bike in a level position. Once that is assured, the rack is solid, vibration-free, and capable of holding a typical rack pack without issues. A great way to carry extra gear on a century ride without having to rely on backpack!

Works and Made Well

I would have given it a 5 score except that I had to smooth and radius the rough and sharp edges on the aluminum mounting plates so they wouldn't cut into the seat rails. Follow the included instructions when first mounting it, and it is easy peasy. Great way to use a rack trunk on a road bike during the winter to hold the jackets, vests, tights, and other stuff that you don't need for summer riding.
