The Schwalbe Marathon Tires incorporate light-reflecting sidewalls for better visibility and also utilizes a Silica compound for easy rolling and longer life. It's the most puncture-resistant pneumatic tire on the market. The Marathon Plus is the only tire worldwide that can be called "flat-less". This is due to its unique and patented puncture protection belt: five millimeters thick and made from highly elastic special rubber. Even thumbtacks can't puncture it!
I rode over 14,000 miles on the same Schwalbe Marathon Plus HS440 tires mounted on a Surly Disc Trucker. 4,500 miles were heavily loaded on an E-W TransAm. Only ONE FLAT in the 14,00 miles: a drywall screw near Hazard KY (you might have guessed).

No punctures on 5 sets of these Schwalbes on our tandem over 30,000 miles. They’re heavier than comparable tires, but I prefer the trade off since I no longer worry about flats (especially while touring, where I switch to the foldable version). Highly recommended from practical experience.

I had this tire on the rear for a trip across the us with no flats. Had 3 other tires on the front and had many flats incl. 3 in one day. Love these tires and now have them on my other bikes.
The Best!

I ONLY use these tires. I rode the ENTIRE Trans Am with these tires plus more before and afterwards. I NEVER had on single flat tire for over 10,000 kms!! Matter of fact, the thread was worn off, bald, and I still had NO flats. I changed them because of baldness (no thread/overuse), not because of any flats.

My cycling partner and I rode the length of the Northern Tier Route with these tires and had one flat between us the entire way, and that was a tube valve stem issue at the very end of the trip. Highly recommended!

Bought these to replace the stock tires on my touring bike. Unfortunately, there is not much touring in a time of pandemic so I’ve been testing them on the mean streets of Albuquerque and one off road (gravel) ride. So far, they’ve performed admirably and have more traction than my tried and true Continental Gatorskins. They are a bit heavier (700x28), but provide lots of stability and confidence when zipping downhill or cornering. Looking forward to the day when I can put them to a multi-day ride test!

My rear tire has 5000+ miles and the front tire has 6000+ miles. I've used it for local training and for riding the Western Express and the Southern Tier as well as a couple of RAGBRAI's. Zero flats. Can't say enough good about these tires!

Have used for loaded touring both loaded and pulling and commuting daily in temps ranging from 15-106 F riding on mainly paved roads and some hard packed gravel roads. Zero flats, had to tighten a valve stem once, but that wasn’t the tire’s fault. Heavier, sure, but I’m happy pulling a few extra grams instead of pulling to the side to repair.
