Works great. Not super long lasting

Wind and water proof. Keeps you warmer than most rain jackets. Well ventilated. I’ve owned three of these now, which is the problem. This is an expensive jacket but the last one hung in the closet most of it’s life only used for cycling trips of 2 weeks duration 3 or 4 times over the 3 years I owned it. Yet the seems came apart and the liner began to peel off and I began to take on water. I would still buy another one but use it more often knowing it’s going to fall apart in 2 or 3 years used or hanging in the closet. The jacket is also hard to get chain grease out of.

Terrific jacket

Used on a 3-week fall ride in the northern Rockies - lots of cold rain. The jacket was dry and warm. At first I was concerned about the stiff-feeling fabric but it soon softened, becoming super comfortable. As for sizing, I have long arms (37” shirt sleeves) and had to trade up to the XXL to get the length I need. Altogether a terrific jacket!

Great Rain Jacket for Cycling

I originally bought a less expensive Showers Pass rain jacket. The zipper stuck before I ever used it so I returned it to REI. I then purchased the Showers Pass Elite 2.1jacket from Adventure Cycling and recently tested it on a rainy day while cycling. The jacket kept me dry, even with the air vents open under my armpits. After the ride I ordered a hood which fits well on the jacket. I really like the Elite 2.1; it is well worth the extra cost!

Kept warm and dry

I bought this jacket as it was advertised to keep me warm, dry, and at the same time keep me from getting soaked from within. It delivered. I could literally feel the air moving around me (when I had the front zipper lowered a bit) to the vents in the back of the jacket. Most of the trip I used it to keep me warm in the mornings. During days of rain, I was kept dry. It is not as compact a jacket as several others I have owned, but then jackets I have purchased in the past did not function well as both a rain deterrent and warmth conserver. This will not be the only jacket I use in the future, but it will play a significant part in my cycling wardrobe.
