Be a Part of Building the Largest Bicycle Network on the Planet!

May 1, 2015

Happy National Bicycle Month! Today we are kicking off Adventure Cycling’s 6th Annual Build It. Bike It. Be a Part of It. campaign to raise awareness and support for the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS).

Thanks to our passionate supporters like you, nearly 10,000 miles of nationally-recognized bicycle routes have been designated so far– with thousands more to come.

Watch this 1-minute video to see what it’s all about >>

Whether you are planning overnight adventures from your front door, weekend outings to a state park or a cross country summer trip, the USBRS is your atlas to adventure– covering America’s best roads and trails for bicycling.

And we need your support to complete this monumental project to reach 10,000 miles and more >>

Double Your Dollar, Win Cool Gear, a New Bike, a Trip to Austria and More!

Throughout the month of May, you have a very special opportunity to have your gift doubled by an anonymous donor, until we reach $25,000. Donate Now >>

Donate $25 to the U.S. Bicycle Route System and we will enter your name into a month-long drawing to win a spot on the Danube Bike Path 7-day bike tour with Bike Tours Direct. Your adventure starts in Passau, Germany and ends in Vienna, Austria. The Danube Bicycle Path offers nearly carefree cycling and an ideal way to view the region. It's downstream all the way, passing through picturesque towns and villages and across lush farmland. It's paved and almost traffic-free, following an old horse path where teams of horses once struggled to tow barges upstream. Along the majestic river, you pass romantic castles, cozy villages and sprawling vineyards.

Donate $50 and you will also be entered to win this Giant Revolt 1 bicycle.

Stay tuned! Our Travel Initiatives staff will be blogging all month on the progress of the USBRS and our Development team will be posting daily campaign updates, full of opportunities to win great prizes like helmets, bike locks, lights, panniers, apparel, have your gift matched by our day sponsors, and so much more thanks to our terrific sponsors listed below.

Thank you for your interest in the efforts to create a nationwide network of bike routes!
