Adventure Cycling Association has made the decision to put the Greg Siple Award for Young Adult Bicycle Travel on hold for one year while we evaluate the program and make improvements to it in order to make it more impactful to the winners and the bicycle travel community. If you'd like to receive updates about the award please fill out the "Stay In the Know" form below. Thank you for your support.
Explore the world by bicycle. Discover the adventure that awaits you. Inspire others. Whether you are new to bicycle travel or looking to build your outdoor leadership skills, The Greg Siple Award for Young Adult Bicycle Travel helps young adults get in the saddle and out on the road by providing the skills and the gear needed for a lifetime of bicycle travel adventure. In return, recipients of The Greg Siple Award will perform an outreach activity to promote bicycle travel. This award is on hold in 2021 as Adventure Cycling takes time to evaluate the program.
The Greg Siple Award, named after Adventure Cycling’s cofounder, is open to young adults ages 18 to 30. The Greg Siple Award was developed in response to Adventure Cycling members’ desire to inspire more young people to travel by bicycle.
Four awards-- two Intro to Bike Touring and two Outdoor Leadership-- were available in 2020 to support cyclists of varying levels of experience.
Congratulations to the four winners of the 2020 Greg Siple Award for Young Adult Bicycle Travel.
