For the past two years, Adventure Cycling Association has inspired thousands of people to go on a one- or two-night bike trip to a campground, B&B, hotel, cabin, or even a friend’s house during Bike Travel Weekend, the first weekend in June.
During the third annual Bike Travel Weekend we’re inviting people in the Pacific Northwest to join us for Adventure Cycling’s first very own fully-supported bike overnight during Bike Travel Weekend. The Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn, June 2–3, will cover 57 miles with an optional 16-mile extension for a total of 73 miles of car-free riding on Washington state’s crushed gravel Snoqualmie Valley Trail.
The Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn is an opportunity to try the bike overnight you’ve always wanted to give a go or to share your love of bicycle travel with friends and family. The Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn is only one night and Adventure Cycling will offer on-trail support, gear transport, and provide a catered dinner on Saturday night and full breakfast on Sunday morning. You won’t have to reserve a campsite, cook, carry a thing, or worry about having a mechanical issue. We’ll even provide a water and snack stop along the way.
As one 2017 Bike Travel Weekend participant said, quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson: “It’s not about the destination. It’s the journey. My advice ... is just get out there and do a trip. It doesn’t need to be a lot of miles. Just have the experience of doing it. You’ll fall in love with overnight bicycle trips.”
The best part of this one-night bike tour will be the company. You’ll be in good hands with Tour Leader Tom “Ranger Tommy” Radley leading the way; Kathy with KJ Productions cooking the delicious meals; inspirational speaker and veteran bicycle tourist Willie Weir, with five year’s worth of journeys in three dozen countries, providing the entertainment; and several Adventure Cycling staff members who will be along for the ride. That’s not to mention the company of the other cyclists, including those who will be experiencing their first bike tour as well as experienced cyclists, who want a relaxed and inspiring adventure.
Kids of all ages are welcome on the Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn, and we’re offering significantly discounted rates for kids 12 and under. Like other Adventure Cycling tours, everyone who signs up must be a member of Adventure Cycling, but in this case, we want to give you a chance to try membership out before financially committing. If you or a family member or friend is not a member yet, click here to try a complimentary six-month membership before signing up for the Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn.
We look forward to seeing you at the Snoqualmie Valley Sojourn, June 2–3, during Bike Travel Weekend when thousands of others will go on a bike overnight on the same weekend.
