Celebrate National Bike Month!

Happy National Bicycle Month! Today is the kickoff of Adventure Cycling’s 5th Annual Build It. Bike It. Be a Part of It. campaign to raise awareness and support for the U.S. Bicycle Route System.

Remember the day your training wheels came off and you first felt the joy and freedom of bicycling? Remember setting up camp on your first overnight bike trip and feeling the rejuvenating connection with nature? Have you ever arrived in a small town and been treated like family? With an official U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS), you can discover something new every day.

Kick off National Bike Month by donating today to help us designate even more routes on the USBRS and continue to inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle. Because of support from members like you, 5,973 miles of the USBR’s have been designated thus far, with thousands more to come.

Throughout the month of May, you can help us continue creating mapped, signed, and maintained bicycle routes that will connect rural communities, suburbs, and cities across the United States. These routes will allow you to easily navigate your cycling trips, whether you’re riding to work, visiting nearby family and friends, or tackling a cross-country trip.
