I am 70 year old male. Been wanting to do an epic ride forever, and now the GGT is here! I live south of Raleigh. I am planning for my wife to drive me to Cape Girardeau and drop me off, where we will start riding East to West on approximately May 15th. I have used Gemini to ask what the best day of departure is and it came up with May 15. I also said 40-50 miles per day, and one rest day per week. Mostly camping and hotel stays when we want or need to. I am not an expert bikepacker, but I have been on three Adventure cycling tours. One thing for sure, we have to be dedicated to make this work. I am an ex marine and ex runner, so I never quit, but also won’t insist on anyone going beyond what is safe and sane. No political or religious discussion please. We just want to see the glory of this great country. Also I am a fairly good bicycle mechanic. Please, please answer this ad and we will start planning and talking to make this happen .
