My name is Chris, and I’m planning a solo bikepacking trip from San Diego, CA to Chicago (my home) starting March 1st, 2026. I would love some company for any part of this trip.

My plan is to camp 2 nights and then find hotel or hostel accommodations for about every 3rd night or so to recharge, clean up, and regroup. I have friends at several key locations on the way, including LaQuinta, CA, Tucson, AZ, and Oklahoma City. I need to complete this trip in about 30-35 days because I need to get back to work. I plan to use AdCycling maps for the southern tier, along with “RidewithGPS” self-selected routes to avoid congestion, dangerous roads etc, and stick to unpaved or tertiary roads.
