Shipping, Handling & Delivery

Note: Due to rising shipping costs, Cyclosource will always use discretion (especially with larger packages) when choosing which carrier to ship with. We reserve the right to ship in the most economical way to us without jeopardizing its timely delivery to you. Please make a note in the "comments" section of the order if you absolutely must have it sent with a specific carrier. 

  • When choosing to ship  "General Delivery" it is the responsibility of the customer to check with the specific post office they choose. (Click here to locate Post Offices- You must call to confirm that they accept General Delivery, as not all locations do). Note: Adventure Cycling is not responsible for Post Offices refusing mail. In the case of having to reship an order that was refused, the customer will be charged for the new shipping fee.
  • We are not responsible for customer-submitted bad addresses or un-deliverable parcels.
  • UPS cannot deliver to PO boxes; If 10.75 is the shipping quote, please provide an address (or two) that both UPS and USPS can deliver to.
  • For orders with a shipping quote of 14.75 and above, please provide a UPS serviceable address.
  • All orders to Hawaii and Alaska will be shipped through USPS.

Shipping Time

  • USPS 1st class = ** 3-6 business day average but up to 60 days, tracking available for parcel upon request, no tracking for letter. **
  • USPS Priority Mail = 3-6 business days average
  • USPS Express = 1-2 business days guaranteed
  • UPS Ground = 3-12 business days average
  • Priority Mail International = 6-10 business days average
  • It is our policy to ship your order within 48 hours of receiving it in our office during office hours.
Please note that shipping time is generally slower around the holidays and is out of Adventure Cycling's control. 


International Shipping Rates

Important Note: Customer is responsible for all duties, taxes, or customs fees levied. International shipping rates are subject to adjustment. Expedited international shipping is no longer available due to a high rate of failure to meet timeline expectations- however, Priority Mail International is an available option for a slightly faster than standard service.

International Shipping Disclaimer

When shipping outside of the United States, shipping times vary widely and are at the mercy of customs agents and international post offices. Foreign orders are mailed using USPS and can take up to 60 days to receive.  We are not responsible for customer-submitted bad addresses or un-deliverable parcels.

If you are traveling to the States and can wait to acquire maps upon your arrival, we are always happy to ship "General Delivery" to a Post Office where your items will be held for *15 days (USPS Priority/1st class) or *5 days (USPS Express) {This varies from location to location so always call ahead to the post office beforehand}. Another great option is to have an order shipped to a hotel that you will be staying at or a bike shop that is willing to help you out.  It is much easier for us to assure timely delivery to these domestic addresses, particularly in cases of expedited shipping.

Expedited Shipping

  • Adventure Cycling can expedite your order through the United State Postal Service. When selecting your preferred shipping method, choose USPS Priority Express, which for $23.50, can send up to 25 maps to a domestic address or post office in 1-2 business days (excludes Sundays and holidays). It is always best to call in an order that you need to be expedited in order to ensure the promptest service. Note that the cut-off time for same day processing is 3:00 pm MST, meaning that any Express orders placed after that time will be packed and shipped out the next business day. 
  •  "3-Day Select" is the fastest service we offer through UPS. We are unable to ship in more expedited ways through UPS due to high costs. 

Notification of Your Order

It is our policy to ship your order within 48 hours of receiving it in our office during office hours. The online store is open 24/7, and our office is open 8 AM to 5 PM, Mountain Time, Monday-Friday. We are closed weekends and holidays. If you provide an email address when you placed your order, you will receive a confirmation message that your order was received. Emails with tracking numbers are currently functioning sporadically - please add a note to verify/send the tracking number as desired.
