I recently got a burr under my saddle that I want to ride the Great River Road from the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota to its’ mouth at the Gulf of Mexico, about 3000 miles. Or at least I want to ride MN, WI, maybe Iowa/Illinois in 2027. My hope is to camp most of the way and i want to do it self-supported (no SAG). This is all very preliminary. I envision a small group ride, preferably non-electrified, easy days of 40 to 50 miles, sight seeing, local foods, and hotels as needed. Me? I will be riding my Surly; celebrating my 71st year on the road and in the meantime convincing my husband that i can do it. Any interest out there? Let’s talk.
