I wanna ride the 574 mile route southbound from Front Royal Virginia to Cherokee North Carolina, going through the gorgeous Shenandoah National Park and ending at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I’ll be boxing my bike and bussing to Front Royal to begin the trek. I’m a 57 year young dude who bicycle-toured (camping w/no sag) across the US twice back in my earlier years. Recently did a solo car road camping trip where I hiked and explored the Smokies. Loved it and wanna go back and cycle there. I haven’t bicycled-toured in many years so I’m a bit rusty. Taking my time so no huge daily mileage. I wanna do some hiking too. Plan to camp the entire time with maybe a motel or two. I want to start at the end of Aug or early Sept which is coming up soon. Looking for fun folks to ride all or any part(s) of the ride with me. I was a member of Adventure Cycling back when it was still called Bikecentennial and people used paper maps. Remember those?
