My name is Ian. I’m a fit 77 year old, married, and live in the UK. I’ve cycled and hiked extensively Britain, Ireland, Europe, New Zealand, and the USA. I’ve completed the ACA’s TransAmerica, East Coast, and Pacific Coast routes. All of which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I write this not to boast but show that I have experience of cycling in America and have some understanding of the conditions there. I have a good sense of humour, am gregarious, dependable, and always ready to compromise.

I am looking for a companion or companions to ride the Adventure Cycling Association’s (ACA) Southern Tier coast to coast route starting on or about 4 March 2026 from San Diego (to avoid the excessive heat in in the summer) and finishing at St Augustine, Florida. I typically camp, and stay in motels and hostels when in town. I average 50-60 miles/day with days or short days off.
