Cycling Ireland’s West Coast

I’m taking a three- to-four week trip on Ireland’s beautiful west coast sometime between April and June 2027, dates contingent upon B&B availability. I’ve cycled all over the country and would like to share it with someone who’s never been there or wants to see more. Flying Dulles-Shannon. Begin and end in Doolin, Co. Clare. Average 35 miles a day. We’ll also take a few trains, plus a ferry to one or two offshore islands.

Ireland’s numerous back roads are scenic, quiet and lightly traveled, drivers patient and courteous. Days and nights pleasantly cool with regular, intermittent rain. Exceptionally hospitable people, wonderful B&Bs, excellent food and beer and lively trad music in the pubs at night.

Seeking an affable, flexible travel partner (M/F 35+) who enjoys intelligent conversation, wit, jokes and puns, socializing with the locals, visiting historic sites, natural wonders and cultural attractions and taking all the requisite tea, pastry and hot soup breaks along the way.
