Memorial to Dan Collins

Daniel Collins was an extreme biking enthusiast whose life was cut short by cancer at the age of 60.

Dan was a Jet Aircraft Mechanic/ Inspector and in all his eclectic interests he participated “full speed” which included detailed planning for cross-country biking and camping trips with his fine-tuned trail and road bikes and a well-provisioned camping Kit.

Dan’s life story included several years living in Saipan where he developed his skills as a scuba diver,
photographer, and cave explorer. His exploring of World War II Japanese fortress caves resulted in significant discoveries including repatriating the remains of Japanese soldiers. Dan’s last wishes included a desire to contribute to the improvement of biking trails and the support of cycling events.
