USBR 76 mostly follows the Adventure Cycling TransAmerica Trail through rolling pastures, hills, and towns of all sizes. The route begins near Girard and leaves the state just past Tribune on its way to Colorado. Cyclists can visit the Flint Hills, the Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center, and the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge along the way.
