The 2018 Greg Siple Award application opens on November 1, 2017 and must be submitted by December 31, 2017 at midnight EST. There are four awards available, two Intro to Bike Travel and two Outdoor Leadership, in 2018.
Always ready for the next adventure, Intro to Bike Travel applicants find bicycle touring and bikepacking intriguing and would love to get rolling, but need help starting their bike-travel story. Let us equip you with the bike, gear, and an Intro to Road Touring course, so you can write the first chapter of this new adventure. Then, with your story-telling skills, you’ll share your experience and inspire others to take their own first adventurous pedal strokes.

Looking to take bike travel to the next level? Outdoor Leadership applicants already know bikepacking and bicycle touring shift their gears, and they love sharing their tales of travel. Let us sharpen your story-telling pencil with a Leadership Training Course, some new gear, and an additional self-contained tour. You’ll gain even more experience, have fun, and find a bike-hungry audience eager to be inspired by your veteran, bike-loving tales of wheel-spinning fun.

The Greg Siple Award for Young Adult Bicycle Travel is open to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must be 18 to 30 years old on March 1, 2018.
Finalists will be notified by February 9 and will be asked to submit a short video recording or do a live interview (no more than 5 minutes) in response to one to two interview questions.
Four winners will be notified by March 1, 2018.
