Summary: Jackson Hole, WY, to Missoula, MT, in 12 days. Group included two from France and two from Britain, including well-known British cyclist R.A.G (Grev) Marples. My father, myself, another person, and the leader made up the remainder of the group.; Commercial Trip
How did ACA Help? It was organized by ACA (then Bikecentennial '76).
Health Issues: Hypothermia was a danger in the mountains of Montana. Our brakes and gears constantly froze, which created dangers descending the mountains.
Motivation: As a 16-year old I viewed it as an adventure.
Most Challenging Aspect:Blizzard in the mountains of MT, falling rocks in Yellowstone Park, and stampeding cattle in the Grand Tetons.
Favorite Experience: Riding along the cliffs and encountering Bison in Yellowstone Park.
Least Favorite: Although several group members arrived early and rode throughout the Grand Tetons, the trip was still too short.
Tips: Be prepared for the unexpected, especially extreme cold in the summer.
