Summary: One of the greatest events of my life. Even 37 yrs later I can see how the summer of 76 changed my life forever! I am now exchanging notes with past group members with hopes of a 40th reunion in 2016.; Commercial Trip

Health Issues: Besides food poisoning, I only had a few body aches.

Motivation: I loved cycling and wanted to see the country. At 21 you think you can do anything, I new this may be my only chance to have a free summer to take on such an awesome adventure.

Most Challenging Aspect:The hills / mountains...but you simply attack them one at a time. Just like the challenges of life that would follow.

Favorite Experience: I loved meeting all the people in my group and along the way. We had a story to tell and everybody wanted to hear it. I have since the ride talked to some of these people again. Re-telling the story seems to never grow old.

Least Favorite: I had food poisoning in Colorado

Tips: If you have an opportunity to take a trip, get in shape and do it. Even if you are unable to go from coast to coast, find a group and enjoy a shorter ride. Take lots of pictures and keep a daily log book.
