Rider: Randy Stout; Retired Engineer/Manager, Non-Member UNITED STATES Email

Summary: I was the trip leader of the "Cafe Coasters".; Commercial Trip

How did ACA Help? Dan & Liz, Greg & June were inspiring just to be around. In 1975, after doing a leaders' training class in Missoula and leading a "Lolo RoughStuff Ramble" I stayed around and helped hang drywall in the new office. I could hardly wait for '76! Of course, B76 planning, maps, logistics, etc. made it all happen.

Motivation: I had a real affection for bicycles. Seeing the country from the saddle was a goal of mine for several years.

Most Challenging Aspect:The responsibility of leading a group of 15 (initially) strangers.

Favorite Experience: There were too many great memories to list, let alone pick only one.

Least Favorite: A medical emergency in southern Virginia. We lost a rider to a severe scald.

Date Entered: May, 2006
