Summary: This was my first tour of any kind and was done on a bike with sew-ups. Never again! But I had a tremendous time and met some great people. ; Self-Planned
How did ACA Help? We had a trained leader plus a support vehicle.
Health Issues: None
Motivation: I had a friend who was a trip leader, but he was taking more time than I could allow, so I decided to go on my own with another group.
Most Challenging Aspect:Climbing some of the grades in the mountains with less than adequate gearing.
Favorite Experience: A most delightful lunch on the college lawn in Richmond. Vienna sausages and crackers and a Coke. Great!
Least Favorite: Climbing Vesuvous! Made it, though, without walking.
Tips: Keep a journal. In thirty years I have forgotten many details. Also, take a lot of pictures. It woulld have been neat to have had a digital camera instead of a film camera.
