Summary: My Trans AM trip in 76 was a very rewarding experience. The kind that is challenging both mentally and physically. Yet it was an enlightening trip that showed the wonders of the US, not only the land but the people. I'll always remember the the people; Self-Planned

How did ACA Help? Bikecentennial provided the maps and guidebooks as well as bikeinns in suppport of my bike adventure.

Health Issues: I had no health issues on the trip

Motivation: Two things that motivated me were the challenge of cycling across the US and the adventure of seeing the country from the seat of a bicycle.

Most Challenging Aspect:The most challenging thing was dealing with the unknown. What was ahead; the terrain, the weather, the accomodations, water.

Favorite Experience: My favorite experience on the trip was riding from Fairplay, Colorado to Pueblo, Colorado a 150 mile ride in one day.

Least Favorite: My least favorite experience was riding in the rain for any length of time. Fortunately it didn't happen to often.

Tips: The best advise I can give is be prepared, have good equipment, and plan ahead.
