Rider: Jonathan Solomon; School Psychologist, Member UNITED STATES Email

Summary: This was a life-changing event for me. It gave me great memories and a sense that I could accomplish anything. (And it's a great coversation piece at parties, too!). I hope other members from my group will attend the Brunswick, MD reunion.; Commercial Trip

How did ACA Help? I was part of a Bikecentennial tour group.

Health Issues: I was hospitalized for a day when we stopped off in Harrodsburg, KY. 20% of West-to-East riders came down with an intestinal virus. From what we heard, no one going East-to-West got sick. My tour leader had to stay overnight in the hospital; he took a bus the next day to catch up with us. We both rode the day following our illness.

Motivation: Gift to self for finishing college. A fun event before leaving to attend graduate school.

Most Challenging Aspect:Climbing Mt. Vesuvius to reach the Blue Ridge Mt. Parkway.

Favorite Experience: There were too many to list. However, a highlight was the canoe trip we did (I think it was in Missouri) as part of one day's mileage.

Least Favorite: Wyoming - the only place on the trip where the people weren't nice to us.

Tips: Tell lots of people of your plan to take the trip before you leave. Then you'll feel compelled to complete the ride even when you're having "one of those days."
