The parrot resting on Neil Wheadon’s head while wife Sarah looks on, made a long journey in 1996. The stuffed bird was well cared for because both Neil and Sarah are veterinarians.
Neil and Sarah had already been tandem enthusiasts for ten years and their Mercian was a wedding present from four years ago. Their ambitious tour began in Savannah, Georgia, and ended in New Zealand 11 months later when they returned to their home in England.
