Counting Pounds

Raymond Riha, is a 65-year-old who retired from law enforcement and decided to ride the TransAm Trail in the summer of 2009. Like many riders he made equipment adjustments once he was on the road.

“I started off with a dog, Ziggy, and trailer. After four days of rain and realizing I was pulling too much weight, Ziggy and the trailer went home. I re-grouped and started where I left off. I again realized that I had too much weight and shipped another 32 pounds of stuff home including my trusty laptop. Now it’s much, much easier to do the climbs.”
