There are many reasons riders give us for taking to the road. They are raising money for a good cause, seeing a part of the country for the first time, spending time with a family member, testing their limits or just having a fun vacation. But Eric Sawtelle has one we hadn’t heard before. The 33-year-old schoolteacher from Whitefish, Montana, was riding the 660 miles from his home to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a dental appointment.
“I need to have a root canal/crown. I am following back roads and dirt roads as much as possible, listening to the birds and the winds along the way. I’ll stop in Yellowstone Park to meet up with my wife, watch the wolves and head down through the Grand Tetons and Wind River Mountains!”
It sure sounds better than a long sit in the waiting room.
