Smoke is engulfing the West Coast and denizens of Turtle Island are experiencing pandemic on two fronts, COVID and anti-Black racism. Sounds pretty dire... well, it is, so what better way is there to let off some steam than to ride your dang bike with some friends and camp in the woods.
We'll take the ferry across the Salish Sea from Duwamish territory (Seattle) to Suquamish territory (Bremerton) and ride on pavement through residential areas and on the highway. This 25 mile ride through Twana/ Skokomish/ Suquamish/ Squaxin lands will be suuper leisurely paced because wildfire smoke will likely still be around. Luckily, we'll be close to sea level so our elevation gain is 914 ft. We will touch the end of the Hood Canal and ride down along the south shore to Twanoh State Park .
We will be taking precautionary COVID measures the whole trip and have reserved two campsites next to each other for ample distancing and shouting matches (sorry birds).
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bicycle Travel Weekend for 2021!
