This is a good overnight trip for beginers.
We will meet at the Smith's at Central and Tramway. Starting at 10am we will ride east along old route 66 to Tijeras. Then we turn north on highway 14 and finish the climb to cedar crest. We will camp overnight at the Turquiose Trail campground (you will need to make your own reservations) and ride back on Sunday.
The route is paved (until the last 1/4 mile of dirt road) with wide shoulders and a separate bike path along hwy 14. About 1400 feet of total climbing. We will ride at "party pace" so expect to take about 3 hours to do the 12 miles.
Beginners are encouraged to join this ride. I have some extra panniers if they are needed.
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bicycle Travel Weekend for 2021!
