Trying out some local trails and campsites loaded up bikepacking style. Will be starting at the suburban home I grew up in (in Irvine) and ride almost entirely on mtb trails all the way to the cool salty waters at Crystal Cove State Park (a beach dip yay!). Since we're new to this kind of riding I think the days will be moderate/difficult for us, especially with some super steep sections and loose, rutted singletrack (i'm also picturing a fair bit of hike-a-biking!). Camping at one of the primitive spots (Upper Moro) is still pretty pricey at $33 with all the fees included. No running water. View of the ocean makes it worth it right?!
We will be vlogging the adventure and posting to our Youtube Channel (Rad Bike Adventure) and tracking all the Bike-Your-Park-Travel-Weekend shenanigans on our IG account too : )
We're excited to be a part of this! -Ryan&Darin
