This was originally going to be open to the public, and I had several people sign up. But, out of an abundance of caution, I'm changing this to a family only trip. We have shortened the distances so that my grandkids can take their first over night bike trip.
We'll start from Manor and ride east to Bastrop on county and gravel roads. After grabbing some food in Bastrop, we'll ride up the hill to the state park and camp out. Next day, we'll head back to Austin along parts of the Southern Tier.
Maybe if this helps introduce the kids to bike touring it will be worth making the change. I mean something good has to happen this year, right?
Here's the map in case anyone ever wants to follow this cool route: https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2898411160
Let's hope I can make it a public ride next year!
