In 2003, Colorado Parks and Wildlife initiated the Colorado Front Range Trail project (CFRT). The vision is to create a multi-purpose trail from Wyoming to New Mexico, along the Front Range of Colorado. When complete, it will connect 15 cities, 14 counties and many smaller towns along its length. To date, over 270 miles of the CFRT have been finished – 1/3 of the corridor. https://cpw.state.co.us/aboutus/Pages/TrailsCFRT.aspx
This one day gravel ride will cover the marked trail from Larkspur to Fountain Colorado. It is gravel for about 80% of its length. The terrain varies from rough utility roads to smooth concrete pavement. The trail goes through Greenland Open Space, Palmer Lake, Monument Valley, and America the Beautiful Parks along Monument and Fountain Creeks. It is a great Bike Your Park ride.
We will meet at 6:30 AM at the Baptist Road King Soopers Parking Lot near the Shell Station. First segment of the ride will head north on the trail.
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bicycle Travel Weekend for 2021!
