E-Biking to the Great Falls in Maryland from Fletcher's Cove

Ride Description

We will be biking to the Great Falls National Park on the Maryland side, starting from Fletcher's Cove. The C&O Canal will be our main pathway. All are welcome, including non-assisted bikers. Please bring your own lunch.

Great Falls is a series of rapids and waterfalls on the Potomac River, 14 miles upstream from Washington, D.C. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal operated from 1831 until 1924 along the Potomac River.

Level of Difficulty: Easy, flat terrain. The C&O canal is a gravel path that runs parallel to the C&O canal. We may see Eastern Painted Turtles.

Length: Approximately 24 miles round trip.

Speed: This is an easy going group and our average speed is 12 mph.

Fees: N/A.

COVID 19: We follow social distancing guidelines.

Amenities: Toilets are available at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the ride.
