Save the dates for Bike Travel Weekend, June 4 – 6, 2021, and Bike Your Park Day, September 25, 2021.
Be ready for 55 miles of up and down along the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah Nat'l Park. Climbs up to 5 miles long with correspondingly long downhills call for low gears and good brakes. The route is all paved with reduced traffic and a max speed limit of 35 mph. Helmets and lights are required in the Park.
While SNP normally has a fee for entry, 9/26/2020 is National Public Lands Day and is free to enter. Everyone will be responsible for their own food, drinks, and camping fee. Camping is open in the Park now. I have a regular site reserved with 3 people currently signed up. At this time we can take 3 more campers before we have to reserve another site. I have reserved Site 10. If we get 7-15 folks then I will try to secure one of the group sites. Regular sites are $20/night and the group sites are $45/night. You can reserve a camp site here: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232459?q=Big%20Meadows
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bicycle Travel Weekend for 2021!
