This ride will go from Hollister along paved California Highway 25 To Pinnacles National Monument. The route is a low-traffic road through ranchland. The elevation gain going out is about 1700 feet over 30 miles. (See https://ridewithgps.com/trips/21686055 for elevation profile.). We'll go at an easy pace. I am expecting that riders may be first-time tourers.
We will have a free day on Saturday at the Pinnacles for hiking, viewing the condors, or making a day ride further along the highway to Bitterwater and back. We will ride back to Hollister on Sunday.
There is a store at the campground with some food. There is no other commercial service, no restaurant, no food, no nothin', except the Campground store, so riders should be prepared to carry most of their food. We may have a support vehicle; that will be determined later. There is a pool and showers at the campground.
The weather at the Pinnacles can be extremely hot; really hot weather will cancel.
