Champoeg State Park is the site of the birthplace of the State of Oregon with many historical markers and structures that indicate the movement to statehood, which was established on February 14, 1859.
Park entrance is free and "Hiker-Biker" campsites are $7.00 per night per person, with communal fire pits and picnic tables scattered throughout. Pitch your tent anywhere in the area with respect for the privacy of others. Campfire wood is available.
The travel miles are approximate, with Saturday left open so fellow travelers can decide where they might want to visit. There are several trails and other activities within the park, including disc golf.
Almost all the ride is in a mix of urban and rural paved road surfaces. Many arterials have marked and designated bike lanes, while the rural areas are "Share the Road" type with some signs posted throughout. Stops along the way will include one at a large supermarket where riders can buy needed groceries for the weekend.
