About a year ago, Tours Director Arlen Hall and I began receiving requests from tours participants to sponsor a young person on one of our tours. We discussed this idea with the Adventure Cycling board and staff and decided that encouraging young people to begin bike touring fit perfectly within our mission to inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle. After many discussions on how to implement such a program, we are happy today to announce that you may now give to the Youth Touring & Leadership Fund to support a young person to attend our Intro to Touring or Leadership Training courses.
Our goal is to not only teach a young person the ins and outs of bicycle touring but also to outfit them for their journey. Funds raised through this program will pay for their spot on the tour, airfare, meals, lodging, and gear. Each scholarship will cost approximately $5,000, and we'd like to be able to award two scholarships in 2014.
Applications and criteria for scholarship participants will be available later this fall. Generally speaking, we will be seeking candidates, ages 18-25, with a compelling desire to become involved with bicycle touring.
This is your chance to spread the joy and freedom of bicycle touring and empower another person to travel by bike. Donate to our Youth Touring and Leadership Scholarship Fund today.

Hello,
Any word on how and when someone can apply for the Youth Touring and Leadership scholarship? Looking forward to it!
I know that the person who won is named Alice, is this you with the above comment Alice because that would be pretty cool.
What a great idea! Will there be a payroll deduction option for ACA employees?
