I know that right now there are a lot of good causes and organizations that are requesting your support. And I know that a bicycling organization might not be on your top-10 list of charities to support before year-end. But if you're a cyclist, and if you're reading this blog, there's a very good reason to donate to Adventure Cycling this holiday season.
We've got your back.
Whether it's by working with CalTrans on chip seal on the Pacific Coast Highway in Northern California, advising the Federal Highway Association on safe use of rumble strips for cycling, working with the National Park Service and individual parks on facilities and policies to benefit cyclists, or working with Amtrak to create better roll-on service options for cyclists, we're looking out for you and working to make your biking experience better.
When you donate to Adventure Cycling, in return you’ll see the development of new bicycle routes with which to explore different parts of North America, a community of cyclists with whom to trade stories and tips with on the Adventure Cycling forums, great stories, gear reviews, and tricks of the trade on the Adventure Cycling blog, and the knowledge that an organization has your back when it comes to bicycle touring.
If this seems like a good deal to you, remember that we're also trying to earn a $100,000 challenge grant, and your donation will be matched dollar for dollar. If you're a first-time donor (meaning a donation beyond your membership dues), you get matched two dollars for every one you donate.
Check out other donation incentives with original artwork by artist Nard Claar, featured in yesterday's blog post.
