Wanted: Enthusiast Adventurers to Volunteer for Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day

January 23, 2018

Bike Travel Weekend Advisors and Influencers help make connections all over the world between people interested in bike travel.

Do you love traveling by bike and want to share your passion and experience with others? Do you want to be part of a global initiative to get more people on bikes? If you answered “yes,” consider signing up to be a Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day Advisor and/or Influencer.

Advisors and Influencers are volunteers who help inspire people all over the world to participate in Bike Travel Weekend, June 1–3, and Bike Your Park Day, September 29.

Being an Advisor or Influencer isn’t a big time commitment, and the rewards are vast. You’ll feel good about helping others discover the joy of bicycle travel, and you get to be part of something big. In the past two years, nearly 40,000 people have participated in Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day.

Advisors provide general bike-travel information and local knowledge to others, and in the process may even make a new friend.

Advisors

Advisors share their general bike travel experience and local knowledge, likes routes, to help people participate in Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day. Advisors’ names and email addresses are included on the “Connect With an Advisor” Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day webpages so participants can contact Advisors directly. Adventure Cycling provides online resources, communication, and other support to Advisors.

Influencers promote Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day to friends, family, and their community. This might include taking a selfie like the one above and posting it on social media with #biketravelweekend or #bikeyourpark.

Influencers

Influencers help promote Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day to friends, family, and their communities in person and through social media. Influencers with social media skills are preferred, but enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in promoting the events in other ways should also apply. Adventure Cycling will provide online and print-sharing resources, like the ones included on the Bike Travel Weekend Promote Your Bike Overnight page, to support Influencers.

Planning Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day with new and old friends is part of the fun.

Signing up is easy

Take two minutes to fill out a simple form. As a volunteer, you’ll experience the rewards of helping new people discover bike travel and connect with cyclists from all over the world.

Advisors and Influencers will also receive an exclusive gift. This year, the gift is a lapel pin with the Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day logos to be worn on a shirt, hat, or even your panniers or messenger bag. The pin is a small token of recognition for helping inspire and empower others.

Hi Clive,

You can live anywhere to sign up to volunteer. We'd love a volunteer from the UK.
