Volunteer for Bike Travel Weekend & Bike Your Park Day

January 24, 2017

Help form connections between bike travelers from all over the world.

Are you brimming with bike travel knowledge and experience? Do you want to share it with others and inspire people all over the world to participate in Bike Travel Weekend on June 2–4 and Bike Your Park Day on September 30?

Advisors: Adventure Cycling seeks enthusiastic advisors interested in sharing their general bike travel experience and local knowledge to help people participate in Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day.

Influencers: Adventure Cycling is also looking for Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day influencers to help promote these two events to friends, family, and communities.

Apply to be an Advisor and/or Influencer today by taking two minutes to fill out a simple form. Feel the rewards of forming connections between bike travelers from all over the world and encouraging people who are new to bike travel.

Volunteers will receive a super sweet Bike Travel Weekend and/or Bike Your Park Day head tube badge.

We’ll also reward Advisors and Influencers for volunteering by acknowledging everyone with an exclusive Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day head tube badge.

Advisors will:

  • Be a resource person for others, so that you enable and empower them to do their own ride, and then they register it at BikeTravelWeekend.org and BikeYourParkDay.org for others to see and become inspired.
  • Provide suggestions and advice to potential participants and answer their questions via email, as best as you can, based upon your bike travel experiences and knowledge of your area.

Advisors’ names and email addresses will be included on the “Connect With an Advisor” Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day webpages so participants can contact Advisors directly. Adventure Cycling will provide online resources, communication, and other support to Advisors.

Advisors provide general and local bike travel information to others.

Influencers will:

  • Promote Bike Travel Weekend (#biketravelweekend) and Bike Your Park Day (#bikeyourpark) by sharing events with friends, family, and their local and online communities.

Influencers with social media skills are preferred, but enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in promoting the events in other ways should also apply. Adventure Cycling will provide online and print sharing resources to support Influencers.

Influencers promote Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day to friends, family, and their community. This might include taking a selfie like the one above and posting it on social media with #biketravelweekend or #bikeyourpark.

I am a board member for Tidewater Bicycle Association and would like to be able to put information on our media sights about these events and promoting them to our area riders.
