January 24, 2017
Are you brimming with bike travel knowledge and experience? Do you want to share it with others and inspire people all over the world to participate in Bike Travel Weekend on June 2–4 and Bike Your Park Day on September 30?
Advisors: Adventure Cycling seeks enthusiastic advisors interested in sharing their general bike travel experience and local knowledge to help people participate in Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day.
Apply to be an Advisor and/or Influencer today by taking two minutes to fill out a simple form. Feel the rewards of forming connections between bike travelers from all over the world and encouraging people who are new to bike travel.
We’ll also reward Advisors and Influencers for volunteering by acknowledging everyone with an exclusive Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day head tube badge.
Be a resource person for others, so that you enable and empower them to do their own ride, and then they register it at BikeTravelWeekend.org and BikeYourParkDay.org for others to see and become inspired.
Provide suggestions and advice to potential participants and answer their questions via email, as best as you can, based upon your bike travel experiences and knowledge of your area.
Advisors’ names and email addresses will be included on the “Connect With an Advisor” Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day webpages so participants can contact Advisors directly. Adventure Cycling will provide online resources, communication, and other support to Advisors.
Promote Bike Travel Weekend (#biketravelweekend) and Bike Your Park Day (#bikeyourpark) by sharing events with friends, family, and their local and online communities.
Influencers with social media skills are preferred, but enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in promoting the events in other ways should also apply. Adventure Cycling will provide online and print sharing resources to support Influencers.
Bike Travel Weekend fun facts:
It’s free to participate in Bike Travel Weekend during the first weekend in June (June 2–4 in 2017).
Participants can ride any distance as long as it’s to or within a park or public lands. This includes mountain biking, road riding, or riding on a bike path. Bring the kids along too with bike trailers, tag-along bikes, or strider bikes.
The first-ever Bike Your Park Day included more than 1,400 rides with over 11,000 cyclists from all 50 states and 10 countries.
Participants rode 435,143 miles on Bike Your Park Day in 2016. That’s more than 17 ½ times around the Earth!
Thanks for being part of this global bike travel movement that will inspire and empower more people to travel by bicycle. Bike Travel Weekend and Bike Your Park Day wouldn’t be successful without valuable volunteers.
