Planning a bike tour always lends our focus to the bike, the seat, pedals, panniers, and the route itself. We are often so consumed with ensuring the ride is as comfortable as possible, we can sometimes forget to plan for our time off the bike. At the end of a long day in the saddle, stretching the legs and relaxing in your favorite camp chair can be very rewarding. The Therm-A-Rest Trekker Chair is a great alternative to sitting on the ground, a stump, or even a picnic table bench.
Therm-a-Rest, the maker of the most popular camping air mattress, took their sleep comfort to the next level by creating the Trekker chair. The Trekker chair is designed to convert your Therm-a-Rest sleeping pad into a very comfortable camp chair.
How it works: Therm-a-Rest designed a system of fabric sleeves and straps that your air mattress fits into. The straps are adjustable so that you can change the seat angle from very upright to very reclined. Included in the chair system are battens to give the chair support along the sides.
Weighing in at only 9.7 ounces, the Trekker chair is super lightweight and very packable. The Trekker chair will accommodate the standard pads and Pro-Lite Therm-a-Rest pads as well as the new NeoAir Therm-a-Rest pads. Adventure Cycling’s Cyclosource store offers the Trekker chair as well as both the Therm-a-Rest Pro-Lite and Neo Air pads.
I think you will find the Trekker has everything you need for relaxing in camp comfort at the end of the day.
