July 12, 2016

The Sprocket Rockets lead the way into Yorktown, Virginia during Bikecentennial 76.

Hundreds of people from all of the United States and the world will be in town for the Montana Bicycle Celebration, July 15–17. Some of them, like the Sprocket Rockets, are reliving Bikecentennial 76 and riding their bikes to Missoula.

The self-named Sprocket Rockets rode the TransAmerica Trail west to east, leaving Astoria, Oregon on May 16, 1976. An article about their tour leader, Myrna Rafalovich, was featured in Adventure Cyclist magazine in 2011.
