Start Thinking Fall

July 15, 2014

Since January, 45 Adventure Cycling tours have started throughout the U.S. and Canada. This would not have been possible without you, our fantastic participants and supporters!

We know that in the midst of these 45 tours there have been some unexpected moments, last minute changes of plans, and an array of memories made. To those who have shared pictures, mementos, the good, the bad, the joys, and the frustrations of your touring experience, we thank you. The tours department would love to be on the road with all the tours, but the office calls.

Thank you for making the first half of our year so successful.

Did you know that we still have 40 tours that are going to kick off between now and November?

Summer solstice has come and gone and we are sliding into fall. These days with the temperature rising above 95 degrees it’s hard to be in the mindset of fall and cooler temperatures. Yesterday while running, (yes not biking), the temperature gauge on the local bank read 96 F. In an effort to keep going I started thinking about winter and fall activities, doing anything I could to think about things other than the current temperature.

This summer when you are caught in the heat and need a distraction from the temperature, I encourage you to dream about and join in on one of our exceptional fall tours. Knowing you have a trip in the cooler days ahead will give you the ability to get through any heat wave!

Imagine cycling with no cars for 330 glorious miles along the C&O Canal Gap. The real cherry on top — this ride is fully supported — Adventure Cycling will carry your gear and prepare all your meals.

If the fully supported tours capture your attention but your heart is more in the California region, consider the Wine and Harvest tour. This ride has some hills but leaves ample time to explore local wineries and markets.

Make some room this fall to savor the crisp air and the changing colors by bicycle.
