Thanks to Salsa Cycles, Adventure Cycling will auction off a Titanium Fargo Dream Build — with SRAM Force and XO drivetrain, Industry Nine Backcountry 360 wheelset, and Maxxis Ardent tires, on July 15, this Saturday.
Didn’t know about this titanium Fargo? That’s probably because this is a very, very limited edition — as in one complete bike. The framesets barely graced bike shop shelves before disappearing into the special-order great beyond, so you don’t have to take our word for it when we say this is an awesome bike!
Sign up on Adventure Cycling’s auction page to be notified when the bike goes live or visit the Adventure Cycling eBay page on July 15, 6:00 PM PST.
When you secure the winning bid, you’ll choose your size and we’ll have the bike assembled at your local Salsa dealer, free of charge. You’ll be riding it less than two weeks after you secure the winning bid.
Here’s what Salsa said about the Fargo:
“Fargo is our original drop bar mountain bike. A bit of a cult classic, Fargo, it is designed for the rider that likes long days on smooth to rugged surfaces, while carrying everything needed to do it all again tomorrow. The comfort and real estate of a drop bar, singletrack capable geometry, and comfortable 3/2.5 seamless triple-butted titanium tubing provide a ride that’s always able to fulfill the most imaginative endeavor. For 2017, Fargo has been updated with shorter chainstays and a split-able Alternator V. 1.5 dropouts for belt drive compatibility. New front end geometry to accommodate a 51mm offset fork, and clearance for 27.5+, 29”, or 29+ wheels and tires, eliminate any guesswork about just where into the wild unknown you and Fargo could go.”

You can read more about the titanium Fargo on the Salsa Cycles blog and on Cycling About.
The Salsa Cycles’ website is going to be the best place to find sizing information. The complete Ti Fargo isn’t listed, because this is a one-time gig, but the steel Fargo has the same geometry. The auction page will have more details on the build kit.
