New Year's Resolutions - Touring in Southern California

It’s only been five months since I was last in California with a youth group, taking in the breathtaking scenery and the diversity of a landscape that you can only imagine. We first hit the vast desert areas, awestruck by the early morning beauty of a backdrop coming to life. Quickly, we rolled into the hills, climbing from desert floor to towering peaks, becoming acquainted with the cooler air and rolling terrain. From the end of the climbing, we effortlessly meandered off the mountains and to the shimmering Pacific Coast in San Diego.
I often find myself scrolling through pictures of this amazing journey that took me from coast to coast last summer, ending in one of my favorite places to ride, Southern California. Whenever I look through my photos, I remember the warmth and beauty that California has to offer. The images motivate me on the long and cold winter days.
I would love to get back to Southern California this spring to shake off some of those winter cobwebs and relive some of the best touring I've experienced. Lucky for me, I get to talk about touring in Southern California almost every day as I answer questions about our California Spring Fling fully supported tour. Every time I talk about the tour, vivid images of a surreal landscape bring back wonderful memories.
With a New Year rolling in tomorrow, I’m resolving to get out and ride ‘some place old’ and ‘some place new’. Deciding on the ‘some place old’ is easy – I’ll be out in Southern California, hopefully just a few months from now on the California Spring Fling. Will you join me? As for the new, anyone have suggestions?

After having knee surgery in September, my new years resolution is to get back into bike touring shape! I don't have a choice either! My husband and I are headed on ACA's Death Valley Ride in mid-March :-)
Planning a ride starting in June of 2014 from west plan beach FL to mobile, cave, pueblo, San Francisco, San Diego then back along the southern tier.
