Gearing up for Bike Your Park Day 2017

July 3, 2017

A group spins toward Logan Pass, a spectacular climb on Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana.

As the high spirits of summer settle in, we hope your bike-travel adventures are in full swing and the wind blows at your back! But as the saying goes, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” and soon the colorful autumn season will be upon us.

Don’t fret because the fun is far from over! Bike your Park Day is on September 30 this year and offers an excellent way to usher in the harvest season. Whether it’s a national park, state park, monument, historic site, recreation area, wildlife refuge, or parkway, Adventure Cycling encourages you to get out there with your friends and family and enjoy those public spaces from the comfort of your saddle. And what better way to get prepared than to stock up at our Cyclosource online store before you head out into the great outdoors? All profits go back into our mission to “inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle.”

Here are a few suggestions for must-have gear:

First Up After you register your ride, grab some of our Bike your Park Day socks and tees (available in both women’s and men’s sizes) for your whole crew. It will be a great way for other participants to recognize you out there and a great conversation starter for the uninitiated.

Water bottles and cages Whether it’s the classic bottle, the insulated Polar Bottle, or the ultra-classy HydroFlask, be sure to represent your love for Adventure Cycling with our logo-emblazoned selections. It’s never a bad idea to replace those old worn out bottle cages as well!

Stay cool with Polar Bottle!

Patch kits, tubes, tools Alleviate the stress and be prepared to handle whatever the road may have in store. Grab a patch kit, some extra tubes for you and your friends, and a handy tool, Crank Brothers Multi-19, or a Park Tool Essential Tool Kit for those on-the-fly adjustments and repairs — you’ll be glad you did. Grab a copy of Pocket Guide to Emergency Bicycle Repair for quick reference as well.

Canari Crazy Liners Your backside will thank you for picking up a pair of these well ventilated and super-comfy liners. Available in women’s and men’s sizes, the Crazy liners are designed to keep you supported and happy for hours on end.

You might have so much fun on Bike Your Park Day that you end up camping out for the night!

Don’t forget to bring your camera and snap tons of photos. Tag them with #BikeYourPark and #AdventureCycling on social media! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces in beautiful parks from every corner of the country, and the globe!
