Free Entrance at National Parks: April 16-24

April 20, 2016

Celebrate two things you love: bikes and national parks!

April 16–24 is National Park Week. This means free entrance to national parks across the country. So pack your panniers and take a ride on the wild side.

We’re currently working to make our national and state parks more bicycle friendly — and we need your support to pull it off! Together with your support, we are pushing for safer roads, better access to and through parks, better accommodations for cyclists, and even better bus and rail travel options to parks.

With your support, we can advocate for:

  • Safer places to ride in our parks — including better shoulders, bike lanes and trails whenever possible, safety signs, road markings, and education campaigns;
  • More opportunities for people to bike enjoyably in their parks — including car-free days and Bike Your Park Day, an annual event that celebrates the freedom of pedaling our great parks and public lands;
  • More hiker/biker campsites — with secure bike parking, charging stations for your mobile devices, lockers for valuables and food, bike maintenance stations, covered facilities, and kiosks with information specific to people traveling by bicycle.

Support our unique advocacy work so on your next bike tour through a national park, you can rest assured that your needs will be met. Please a make a donation today.

Donate $100 to $249 and receive this handy notebook, illustrated by Adventure Cycling co-founder Greg Siple. It’s the perfect size for tucking into a pannier and recording your daily thoughts at the end of the day around the campfire.

Donate $250 or more and receive a foldable backpack. It’s great for a trip to the grocery story to resupply and the bright orange helps you be seen on the road. Tuck it into it’s own pocket for easy stashing when you’re done.
