Corporate Member Velosurance shares with us a bit about their company, their passion for cycling, and why they support Adventure Cycling Association.
Tell us a little bit about your company and its history.
One very rainy day at a local taco joint in Fort Lauderdale, we started discussing how badly home and renters policies insured bicycles. We knew there had to be a better way, so we set about finding out how we could take a traditional piece of insurance and make it better, much better. On that wet day over tacos, Velosurance was founded.
What services or products do you provide for bicycle tourists?
Velosurance is a stand-alone insurance policy that covers bicycles anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. The policy can also be extended worldwide.
Whether at your home, on your auto, riding the trail or the road, bicycles are rarely covered for theft or damage. Velosurance offers the availability of a multi-risk, stand-alone insurance policy, allowing cyclists to insure their bikes for theft, physical loss, damage, and liability.
What are your favorite things going on in cycling right now?
The emergence of gravel bikes. Gravel bikes are the fastest growing segment of cycling, sending cyclists down roads to places not always available without these gravel-trail designed bikes.
Where would you like to see cycling in America in five years?
We’d like to see more bike lanes and bike lanes between parked cars and the street. Our decision to support Adventure Cycling was an easy one.
Is there anything else about your company you’d like to share with our readers?
We’re cyclists just like you, and we understand that when your bike gets damaged in an accident, you want the shortest possible downtime. We make it our mission to see that your claim check arrives before the repair parts do, and get you pedaling as soon as possible.
The Velosurance mission is to be fair to everyone involved and offer our best advice to clients, helping them make an educated decision about their bicycle insurance coverage.
We also like to ride as much as possible!
