Corporate Spotlight: Two Knobby Tires

April 2, 2014

This post is part of a series spotlighting Adventure Cycling's corporate supporters. These companies support our mission and programs and do some cool stuff of their own. We decided to ask them some questions and, as a result, have learned a few interesting things about our supporters that we'd like to share with you. The answers below are direct from the companies. We hope that this gives you the chance to get to know them a little better, too. For this post, Silver Corporate Member Two Knobby Tires tell us a bit about their products, their passion for cycling, and why they support Adventure Cycling Association.

Tell us a little bit about your company.

Two Knobby Tires is a boutique online retailer. We have been selling eco-friendly outdoor gear on Amazon for five years. In that time, we’ve lived in Fort Collins, CO, Blacksburg, VA, and Iowa City, IA, our current residence.

What services or products do you provide for bicycle tourists?

We offer products that support an active and eco-friendly lifestyle. Some of our favorites are made from reclaimed bicycle tubes. Our blog details all of the hiking and biking trails we’ve explored over the years. It features trails along Colorado’s front range, near Salt Lake City, in southwest Virginia, and in eastern Iowa. We hope the free information we provide inspires people to get outdoors and explore new places.

Why do you support Adventure Cycling through corporate membership?

To participate in the growth of the cycling movement so that future generations will spend more time on a bike.

What are your five favorite cycling-related things right now?

Products made from reclaimed bicycle parts, new and expanded bike lanes, balance bikes for kids, 29er mountain bikes, and omni-terrain fatbikes.

Where would you like to see cycling in America in five years?

Continuing to create and maintain bikes lanes and paths for commuting and touring. And, developing more public biking areas like the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, CO, that make it fun and easy for kids and newbies to get into cycling.

What is your favorite service or program that Adventure Cycling offers?

Your maps. I love using a map to explore a new place and to help me create my own unique adventure.

What do you like best about Adventure Cyclist magazine (other than having your logo appear)?

I like to learn about new places, products, and cycling trends. I’m a visual person so I enjoy your photos and they get me excited to plan my next vacation.

Would you like to offer a discount or promotion to our readers?

Use our promotion code ECOGEAR5 during Amazon’s checkout process to receive a 10% discount for the products we sell. Follow updates from TwoKnobbyTires on Facebook and Twitter.
