Colorado Wildflowers & Rivers: Halfway Point Trip Report

August 13, 2013

I'm currently on Day 4 of Adventure Cycling's Colorado Wildflowers & Rivers tour with my mother. In the past 40-ish hours, I've smiled so much my cheeks ache and I've biked so much that... well, my cheeks ache.

I'll save the full trip report for when I'm fully done with the tour, but here's what I know thus far:

Adventure Cycling Tours Leadership Staff rules.

Our caterer deserves an Olympic medal.

My mother started really riding a bike just six months ago. On this trip, she has been engulfed with so much support and encouragement that she has accomplished feats she never would have dreamed weeks ago.

I will bawl like a baby (from pride) when my mom successfully climbs Vail Pass.

This will not be my last Adventure Cycling tour.

Thanks everyone!

Mom did it! And I've never seen her happier.

Crystal: CONGRATS! You really must cycle Colorado someday. It was so great to meet you on your adventure! Here's to many more to come!

Rachel, so great to read this trip report! Glad to great your mom is rockin' it and you're both having fun. Colorado looks like a future bike touring destination for us, when we find the time between school and work.

Adam and I are only about five days riding from Santa Barbara now. Let us know if you're around!
