Bicycle Travel Resources

June 26, 2013

Welcome to day three of our Bright Lights Big Adventure membership drive. Never been a member of Adventure Cycling? Join our organization by June 30, and we'll include a Sigma Micro light with your new member packet.

If you join today, we'll include you in our raffle for a Cane Creek Thudbuster seatpost. This is an ideal seatpost for smoothing out rough pavement, gravel roads, or mountain bike single track. If you're planning on conquering our Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, it would be a great option to consider.

Speaking of conquering routes, we want to make sure you head out on your next adventure well prepared, no matter how big or small that adventure may be. To do this, we offer a wide variety of online resources to help you plan and execute the next bicycle trip on your bucket list. Here are some of those resources, and what they can do for you:

How-to Department: If you're new to bicycle touring, this is an excellent place to start. Here we have a number of articles that will help you choose the right gear, plan your route, and maintain your equipment along the way. There are also some great how-to videos.

Forums: We have an active group of contributors to our online forum who are always happy to share their vast experience with others. Ask a question, or just peruse current topics, ranging from route information and thoughts on gear to general bicycle travel discussions.

Ride Registry: When people complete a tour, they have the option to register their ride with us. Here you can browse online journals and blogs about specific rides that people have accomplished. It's a great way to gather inspiration and confidence that you're not alone in your wanderlust.

Social Media: We connect thousands of like-minded bicycle enthusiasts through our social media networks. We're active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, and Pinterest. We would love to have you join in on the conversations.

THE 2013 BRIGHT LIGHTS BIG ADVENTURE campaign runs through 5pm MDT on June 30, 2013. Adventure Cycling Association's mission is to inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle. We depend on dedicated cyclists to continue programs such as expanding the Adventure Cycling Route Network, keeping our online resources up to date, maintaining our education and outreach efforts, and building an official U.S. Bicycle Route System.

Inkind sponsors include Big Sky Bikes, Cane Creek, IronX, Richard Jones Convertible Backpacks, and Q-Outdoor
